Wesselman Woods Nature Reserve is owned by the city of Evansville and is run by a self-titled non-profit organization called the Wesselman Woods Nature Society.
The park’s size adds up to about 240 acres, and their hours are from 9 am until 5 pm on Tuesdays through Saturdays (however during the months of November through January they will close at 4 pm), on Sundays the park is open from 12 pm until 5 pm (also closes early at 4 pm during the months of November through January) and they are closed on Mondays. Admission into the park isn’t going to break the bank, with a small fee of only $5 for adults, and $3 for children who are within the ages of 3 and 12 years old.

There are plenty of places you can visit for a delicious hearty meal that won’t break the bank, such as the Bru Burger Bar, Turoni’s Pizza & Brewery, or the Acropolis Restaurant.
When you dine at the Bru Burger Bar, you are served many variations of classic burgers, sandwiches, and even specialty burgers. Some of the specialty burgers are the Stilton Bleu Cheese Burger, the Melt Your Face Burger, the Honey Chipotle BBQ Burger, and many more. The Stilton Bleu Cheese Burger is topped with pear-bacon jam, spinach, fried onions, and truffle aioli. The Melt Your Face Burger is one of the spicier items on the menu, as it is topped habanero hot sauce, habanero Havarti cheese, jalapeños, and habanero whole grain mustard. The Bru Burger Bar is open from 11 am until 11 pm on Monday through Saturday, and is open from 11 am until 10 pm on Sundays.
Turoni’s Pizza & Brewery has a mission to provide the best service as well as the best product to their customers. If they aren’t proud of what they come up with, then they won’t serve it. Turoni’s has been open and serving pizzas for over 3 decades, but they also serve up appetizers, hot sandwiches, sub sandwiches, salads, and a vast selection of beers from their brewery, such as their dark brews, blonde brews, and IPA’s. Some of their appetizers include breadsticks, homemade chili, mac and cheese wedges, and much more. Turoni’s Pizza & Brewery is open from 11 am until 11 pm on Mondays through Thursdays, 11 am until 12 am on Fridays, 12 pm until 12 am on Saturdays, and 4 pm until 11 pm on Sundays.
The Acropolis Restaurant serves its guests authentic Greek cuisine that is made with the freshest ingredients. They serve hot and cold appetizers, such as hummus, gyro meatballs, and stuffed mushrooms. They also offer their customers soups, salads, Greek specialties, pasta, sandwiches, kebabs, and more. Some of their specialties include lamb shanks, Dolmades (grape leaves that are stuffed with seasoned ground beef, rice, and herbs). The Acropolis Restaurant even offers gluten-free options. Their hours are from 11 am until 9 pm on Mondays through Thursdays, 11 am until 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 11 am until 3 pm on Sundays.
